Patch 16.4
Senna has found herself in a weird state where she can be quite powerful, but not when playing her more popular offense-focused builds. So we're shifting some power around with the goal of maintaining her viable supportive playstyles but making damage-focused builds much better.
Patch 16.1
Like Jhin, Yasuo, and Yone, Senna's guaranteed critical strikes cannot sustain a 2x modifier, so we're lowering her base crit damage down to a value similar to last year.
Patch 15.17
Attack Speed Growth increased. Q heal increased.
Senna is currently underperforming as a bot laner and even more so as a support. We're giving back some of the attack speed growth she's had previously to improve the feel of her attacking builds, and she's getting a small bump in her Q's base healing.
Patch 15.12
Soul Drop chance per minion kill decreased.
As it turns out, the biggest buff ADC Senna received back in 15.10 was players collectively building Statikk Shiv. Now that players are doing that, she no longer needs many of the ADC-specific buffs from last month. So we’re bringing her ADC-specific buffs back down to see how the dust settles with this new tuning.

Passive crit chance and soul drop increased. Q heal decreased.
Though it's her more popular build, Senna's AD builds significantly underperform compared to her enchanter setups. We'd like to retain both of these builds as equally viable, so we're buffing her AD builds by giving her better sustained damage output through soul crit chance. We'd also like to significantly raise the viability of carry Senna, so we're giving a large boost to her soul drop rate when last-hitting. As these would buff all builds to some degree, we're slightly bringing down one of her AP ratios as compensation.
Patch 14.21
Armor and Armor Growth reduced.
Senna is currently the queen of support picks and needs to be taken down a peg in order to give everyone else some breathing room. We're targeting her armor to give physical burst damage the niche they deserve for swiftly removing long-range backliners.

Q heal decreased. R shield AP ratio decreased.
Senna’s new optimal builds (both AP enchanter and Black Cleaver) are currently overperforming. While we’re happy that she has a viable AP enchanter alternate build, it should never be dominating her itemization, so she’s receiving both some flat nerfs and taps to her AP ratios. In case you haven’t watched a video from your favorite influencer yet, let’s be clear: Go buy a Black Cleaver, it’s really good on her!
Patch 14.16
All abilities (except E) adjusted.
Over time, Senna has morphed into a champion who can be the team's primary DPS carry as opposed to a supportive markswoman. Right now only pros play her with farming tanks to extract her full power, and she's much too strong in coordinated play when teams build around her. Meanwhile, the majority of at-home players overwhelmingly pick her as a support where she's significantly weaker. This patch, we're buffing her supportive aspects and nerfing her sustained DPS, which has crept up over the years. On top of that, we're buffing several AP ratios to make AP (or at least a splash of an Ardent Censer) Senna a viable alternative build without pushing her into buying Mage or Enchanter items full time. Finally, we're making a change to Black Cleaver this patch that allows her to always deliver two stacks on every attack and Q on enemy champions, further boosting her performance alongside traditional AD carries.
Patch 14.7
Fewer souls dropped from allied support items killing minions, more souls dropped from Senna killing minions.
We noticed a bug that arrived in patch 14.1 that made Senna get the full drop chance from allied support item executes, which substantially increased her power as a farming bot laner. We’re fixing that bug in this patch and returning her on-kill drop chance near where it was before.
Patch 14.6
Passive Mist Wraith drop rate decreased.
While we think Senna is appropriately powerful as a support in the hands of most players, she’s currently far too strong as a farming bot laner. While we targeted both her primary roles last patch, we’re specifically reducing the power of her bot lane carry performance this time.
Patch 14.5
Q damage decreased.
Senna is quite powerful at the moment, dominating as a conventional bot laner in Solo queue and as a support in Pro play. In order to bring her down a notch we're taking off a chunk of her Q AD scaling which should bring down her damage while preserving her utility outputs.
Patch 13.22
Q damage and healing decreased.
Senna gained a lot of power due to the anti-snowballing changes of 13.20, so she needs to take a step back, especially in Elite play. It's cool that she's a strong scaler with a lot of agency and some strong matchups, but she's currently too successful as a lane bully and too bursty in the mid game. Both Q damage and healing are higher in Elite MMR than normal, which explains our target selection.
Patch 13.18
Passive critical strike ratio reduction removed. W now applies passive to all enemies caught in the AoE.
Way back when Senna was released, we incorporated a critical strike ratio reduction as she was expected to do too well with crit items. However, in the current state of the game Senna is actually considerably weaker when opting to itemize crit. Now that we don’t have reservations with Senna being too powerful when building crit, we’re comfortable removing this penalty from her kit. We’re also including a passive application buff to her W as a nice feels good change for when you’re able to land the snare on multiple enemies.
Patch 13.4
Attack ratio increased. R damage increased, cooldown decreased.
Senna has fallen behind in terms of strength and popularity lately and, on top of that, her core items are receiving nerfs this patch. These buffs aim to compensate for those power losses and give her some power in the rest of her kit. We’re buffing R’s cooldown and damage to make it more relevant as an offensive tool post-durability patch, and buffing Senna's attack speed ratio to promote her build diversity through Kraken Slayer.
Patch 12.11
Passive Mist Wraith drop rate for Senna's minion kills increased. Q slow strength decreased; slow duration decreased early and now scales with rank.
Senna has been a bit too strong with the Durability Update, consistently winning lane and oppressing her opponents. We're taking down her power as a support and, in exchange, giving ADC Senna more chances to collect Mist Wraiths.
Patch 12.3
Passive soul drop rate for Senna's farm reduced.
The buff to Senna's Q last patch did make her support stronger as intended, but it also overwhelmingly increased her ADC winrate. Our goal isn't to make ADC Senna weak, but instead to bring her two roles closer together in strength. (Before you grab a calculator, this rounds out to approximately one soul for every six minion waves.)
Patch 12.2
Q passive now empowers basic attacks with slows.
Senna is quite weak this season, especially when she builds for DPS. The old Glacial Augment was a crucial part of that playstyle and since it no longer procs off Senna's basic attacks, we're adding some utility back into her kit.
Patch 11.17
Critical Strike Damage penalty reduced. Soul drop rate increased.
Senna's DPS focused builds have mist the mark recently. We're buffing up her crit to better synergize with damage items and giving her more souls on minion kills to help out players who run her as farming carry.

Passive bonus attack range decreased. Q now scales with lethality. E now scales with AP when camouflaged. R damage ratio increased.
Frostfire Gauntlet has become Senna’s dominant support build, boosting both her win and play rate. While tank Senna can be fun, it currently overshadows other item options and writes off her primary weakness as a squishy carry. To mitigate, we’re bringing more power back to support builds where she’s historically had success (lethality and AP), and tapping down Frostfire. We’re also taking this opportunity to slow down some of her range growth, which has been scaling a lot faster with the buff to her Mist in 11.2. Altogether, these changes should empower Senna to build items that better fit her identity as a powerful glass cannon.
Patch 11.2
Base AS ratio increased. Passive non-kill Mist Wraith drop chance and gold from Mist Wraith increased. Q healing and damage ratio increased.
Aiming to support support Senna with more gold so that she can buy more items. We’re also giving her Q and attack speed stronger scaling across builds, which should open up more itemization options.
