Patch 16.2
Ashe is underperforming in the new season so we’re here to bring her back up near her former power level. We like that she has a strong affinity for buying attack speed, so we’re just making those purchases multiply a little bit harder.
Patch 16.1
Ashe is already quite attack-reliant and pretty balanced but considering she buys about 1.5 crit items per game, we're lowering her late game a little to make room for the increased damage coming her way.
Patch 15.23
We're delivering a suite of ADC changes in this patch in order to shake up the end-of-season solo queue meta. A few of the most commonly picked are being nerfed and some of the least common are being buffed. We'd also like to move in a direction of making non-caster ADCs more attack speed-reliant, which you should notice in many of the ADC changes later on in this patch. Ashe has been a top performer in terms of both pick and win rate for most of this season, so we're tapping her down to create a little more equity in ADC pick rates. We're maintaining Ashe's appetite for attack speed by giving her a little bit less from Q.
Patch 15.18
AD growth increased.
Ashe is once again finding herself near the bottom of the ADC list. We're pretty happy with her current shape with crit and some on-hit items being solid options for her, so all we're really doing here is looking to nudge her success rate up just a bit.
Patch 15.11
Q can now build stacks from structure hits.
Ashe's Q unlike many other marksman's attack passives (see Caitlyn Passive) cannot stack on structures but its damage can affect structures which creates peculiar optimizations - letting her stack this Q on structures should help avoid these unintuitive optimizations and let her feel better about sieging towers in general.
Patch 15.9
Q damage and bonus attack speed increased.
Ashe is a touch weak right now, so we’re adding some power to her mid-to-late game teamfights to help her thrive in cases where she finds space and time to focus down her targets.
Patch 15.5
R damage decreased.
We overshot last patch's Ashe buff by a bit, so we'd like to rein in that overcorrection. This is meant to be a small nerf as Ashe is pretty close to her intended power level.
Patch 15.4
Q, W, and R damage increased.
After her recent adjustments Ashe is sitting a bit on the weaker side, so this patch we're looking to add the bite back to her frost. For this change list, we're looking to give her some more power in the mid game by increasing the AD scaling on her Q and W while also giving her a bit more up front damage on her R so that Ashe and her allies can more successfully burst down enemies she's engaged on.
Patch 15.1
Passive adjusted. Q damage and attack speed increased.
Ashe's update this patch has two goals: First, we'd like to reduce the extremely high power she has in early levels. A combination of one of the highest functional level 1 attack damages in the game and permanently slowing her targets can create situations where a single mistake means she runs you down across the entire lane, causing you to Flash or die. Second, we'd like if Frost Shot was always a benefit instead of sometimes a hindrance. Even with 100% crit chance, Ashe would never get any bonus damage from her passive, since it only applied if they were already slowed. Volley's changes are a simple power shift, making it weaker at level 1, but stronger than before after level 5, regardless of build.
Patch 14.17
Base Health decreased.
Ashe has ended up more elite- and Pro-skewed than we’d like, considering she’s quite straightforward to play. This patch we’re addressing some of her early bully power, opening up more windows for counter-play against her.
Patch 14.12
Passive damage decreased.
Ashe is quite strong right now thanks to the itemization changes as she's not really bound to crit chance. We're nerfing her sustained damage in a way that incentivizes buying crit again and makes her early-game all-ins less powerful.
Patch 13.12
Passive bonus damage increased. W damage increased. R damage increased.
Ashe has been chilling at a pretty weak spot after the midseason update when compared to other marksmen and supports. Our goal with these changes is to bring Ashe into a more viable state as a marksman by reverting some nerfs made to Volley's damage in a previous patch. We're also incentivizing her to opt into crit builds by making some changes to her passive. We're also looking to give support Ashe some strength by buffing up the AP ratio of her ultimate which should strictly be a buff to her support playstyles and for the occasional AP Ashe enjoyer.
Patch 13.6
Passive damage to targets with Frost increased.
Last patch, Ashe was nerfed for support and the goal was to preserve her power level as an AD Carry. We were mostly successful in hitting these goals, but she's still a bit worse off. So here's us making good on that promise.
Patch 13.5
Q mana cost decreased, empowered duration increased. W base damage decreased. R cooldown increased early, decreased late.
Ashe is a cool (ha) champion for solo queue and she's balanced in both ADC and support, even across MMRs. However, she's completely reigning supreme over all support picks in Pro play right now and her ban rate is rapidly climbing in solo queue as well. So here are some nerfs focused on Support Ashe with some compensation buffs aimed at ADC.
Patch 12.18
Q bonus attack speed increased.
While Ashe has recently gained popularity as a support, her power hasn't been quite up to par with other marksmen. We're increasing her damage to help her shine a bit more in a meta that lacks utility ADC options.
Patch 12.4
R arrow speed increased.
Ashe has been fairly out of the meta for a while now, so we’re taking the opportunity to give the Frost Archer some more reliable utility with those magical, cross-map ults.
Patch 11.18
W cooldown increased early.
Ashe's lane control early game goes a bit too far and wide. We're giving her opponents more space to play back without getting pierced by cones and cones of crystalline arrows.
Patch 11.7
R cooldown decreased later.
In comparison to her fellow marksmen, Ashe has been feeling left out in the cold. We're lowering the cooldown on her ultimate to let our Warmother make aggressive plays more often.
