Patch 15.22
Blitzcrank has been underperforming so we want to add some more pep to this steam golem’s step with some better sustained disruption and damage to get him rolling again.
Patch 15.8
Passive Shield Increased. Q damage increased.
Blitzcrank is sad, with lower winrate, pickrate, and banrate than we would expect. We're buffing up his hook damage to make it a bit easier to actually kill targets that you land the grab on, and giving him a bit more durability on his passive to make buying mana more attractive and to give him a bit easier of a time committing for big plays.
Patch 14.22
E damage increased.
Blitzcrank is in a sad spot so we're helping him out. We're bringing up his damage to give him more kill threat to account for overall damage in the game going down in 14.19.
Patch 14.12
Base health decreased. Passive shield duration increased.
Our previous Blitzcrank nerfs didn't take enough steam out of Blitz, so we're trying again. We're reverting the passive change, as it had no impact, and going more directly for their durability this time. We're keeping Blitz's baseline damage intact so that they can still be lethal to squishy lanes, but we want to make sure it's easier to punish overextending or getting caught in exchange.
Patch 13.17
Base health and magic resistance increased, base attack speed and attack speed ratio decreased. Passive shield value adjusted. W mana cost decreased, bonus attack speed decreased. E AD ratio increased, mana cost decreased, bonus damage to non-champions removed. R passive damage increased.
Historically, Blitzcrank has always been a relatively straightforward champion which is something both we and players appreciated about them, and we want to focus on that. To that end, we’ve decided to roll back the changes we made last year to help Blitz play in the jungle. Throughout the past year it’s proven difficult to have Blitz succeed in both roles, and even when he was viable in the jungle it turned out players weren’t that interested in playing him there. Going forward we’ll be focusing on balancing Blitz in their most popular position—support.

Base health decreased, base armor decreased. W attack speed decreased.
Blitzcrank's jungle buffs have continued to make him a potent threat to his opponent, only in the wrong position... We're tuning down his support strength which has been a bit overwhelming due to his jungle oriented buffs in the last two patches.

Base AD decreased, base attack speed decreased. Passive shield adjusted. W damage to monsters increased. E damage to champions decreased.
Last patches changes succeeded in getting players to give jungle Blitzcrank a try. Unfortunately, it's still not as strong as we'd like it to be. On the other hand, the changes unintentionally supercharged his strength as a support. We're tweaking his numbers in a way that should nerf his support strength and increase his jungle power.
Patch 12.19
Base attack speed increased, attack speed ratio increased. W mana cost increased, bonus attack speed increased, now empowers auto attacks while active. E mana cost increased, knock up duration increased, AP scaling increased. R passive stack limit removed, on-hit stack damage AP ratio increased; R active AP scaling now increases with rank.
Fun fact, Blitzcrank was initially designed as a fighter champion! While they’ve found their place in the support role over the years, we still think it could be fun to let the Great Steam Golem try their hand at something other than grabbing. We’re buffing some more “fighter” parts of Blitz’s kit to make them a more proficient duelist at as little of a cost to their primary support playstyle as possible—so put on those Boom Boom Blitzcrank skins and get punchin’! Hah. Hah. Hah.
Patch 12.12
Q base damage increased. R active base damage increased.
Blitzcrank's engage capabilities have gathered some rust since the Durability Update. We’re making his hooks hurt more so they feel as rewarding to land as they should.

Base health regen reduced.
We're lowering the robot's innate sustain so that he has to be a little more cautious in lane.
Patch 11.15
Base armor and Q damage increased.
Blitz has been cranking out pretty low lethality in the early/mid game. Considering he’s got a flashy fist, it should feel more rewarding when it actually hits. To polish him off, we’re also giving him a thicker metal skin.
