Patch 16.3
Yone
Yone's on the weaker side of the roster right now so we think he could use a buff. We know it can feel unfair to simply lose to him right clicking you during his E but we don't want him to be super bursty either, so we're pushing power into his Q, which has more gameplay around predictions and dodging.
Patch 16.1
Yone
Yone won't be much different this year. Considering he doubles how much critical strike chance he gets from each item, he just isn't allowed to crit for full damage.
Patch 15.22
Yone
We buffed Yone last patch but due to his tendency to build Doran’s Shield and Second Wind, he didn’t end up as powerful as we would have liked. Since we are happy with the results of reducing his sustain in the last patch, we’re re-adding more early agency through his ability to hit back at his opposition.
Patch 15.21
Yone
Yone's been a low performer for quite a while now, and the upcoming changes to Doran's Shield and Second Wind will likely leave him in a pretty sad state. We'd like to pre-emptively give him some early game power to make up for it.
Patch 15.8
Yone
W damage decreased.
We expected last patch to buff Yone, but based on how it went for Yasuo, we expected a much smaller impact to the changes than what we got. As a result, we're throwing in a small Yone nerf to land where we expected to. The intent of this nerf is to make him more reliant on auto-attack uptime, exposing himself to greater risks in the process.
Patch 15.7
Yone
Passive Critical damage reduction removed. E Crowd Control cleanse removed.
We're making some Yone adjustments this patch that we hope will be enjoyed by both Yone's players and his opponents. He's copying his younger half-brother in also removing the critical damage reduction on his passive, meaning more damage, more kills, and more Yone wins. On the other side, we're also removing his ability for E to cleanse all types of crowd control during its snap-back. Now he'll still be stunned, rooted blinded, etc. if he's been crowd controlled mid flight, which gives his opponents room to catch up and kill him, or at least require Yone players to be more careful about where they start their assault from.
Patch 14.21
Yone
W damage decreased.
Yone is a touch too powerful right now and his combat lacks a bit of counterplay. He’s receiving a simultaneous nerf via Blade of the Ruined King and a smaller buff via Lethal Tempo. With those in mind, we think a tap to his more guaranteed damage should put his power level where it’s appropriate and make him more reliant on sustained melee combat.
Patch 14.20
Yone
Q crit damage increased.
Yone was also unsurprisingly hit when crit itemization became weaker. We’d like to make sure that landing his Qs are building crit are core to his success, so we’re delivering a small buff to that synergy.
Patch 14.15
Yone
Q damage increased. R cooldown increased at higher ranks.
Yone is currently one of the weakest early laners in mid with a really dominant late-game and we’d like to flatten out that power curve slightly. We’re increasing his Q lethality in lane and bringing down his target access late-game as compensation.
Patch 14.12
Yone
Recommended Runes updated. Base armor increased.
Yone's having a tough time right now. Some of this is due to suboptimal runes (about half of players are running Legend: Haste instead of Legend: Alacrity), and some of this is due to being a little too squishy, requiring him to one-shot people to get anything done. We're hoping to remedy both of these pieces a little.
Patch 14.10
Yone
Passive critical strike multiplier decreased, bonus AD for excess critical strike chance increased.
Now that we're going back to 25% critical strike chance on legendary items, we're adjusting champions like Yone that directly depend on certain thresholds. Much like his brother, our goal is for Yone to hit 100% critical strike chance once he hits 2 items.
Patch 13.15
Yone
W shield strength increased.
Yone is currently not performing so well in solo queue. Similar to Yasuo, he lost Immortal Shieldbow as an early purchase, which gave him much-needed survivability. We'll be increasing his W shield to help him trade better in lane and to also improve his general durability throughout the game.
Patch 12.7
Yone
R cooldown decreased late.
Yone is also getting more access to his ult, but with a focus on late game which is when it's usually harder for him to close gaps (unless he's already extremely far ahead).
Patch 12.2
Yone
Q damage ratio increased.
Of course, we have to do the same for Yone to make sure he doesn't fall behind in the sibling rivalry.
Patch 11.18
Yone
W shielding per champion hit after the first increased.
Despite his reasonable power level in Average play, Yone falls behind at higher skill bands. Rather than directly buffing his 1v1 or assassination potential, we're enhancing one of Yone's more skill-based outputs on W to improve his skirmishing and teamfighting when piloted well.
Patch 11.1
Yone
Base AD growth decreased. Passive bonus crit strike chance increased; excess crit strike to AD conversion decreased.
Brothers stick together; see Yasuo.
