Patch 16.5
Samira
We’re giving Samira some love in the form of QoL and minor bugfixing around her Q! Sometimes Q doesn’t do what you want which can be a bit frustrating, and we’re hoping to fix some of the extreme end of feels-bad cases by adding some additional logic on the decision of when to use her Sword and when to use her Gun.
Patch 16.4
Samira
Samira is already a solid performer every way we can measure it, so this change isn't meant to be a significant buff. Instead, this change is more an acknowledgement that Bloodthirster should be competitive with Endless Hunger and shouldn't heal her for less just due to some rules text.
Patch 16.1
Samira
We like that Samira's R and Q are almost direct auto-attack replacements and want to preserve as much of their crit damage as possible. However, with the value of crit going up, the value of AD must then go down.
Patch 15.12
Samira
Passive bonus movement speed increased. Q damage increased.
Samira's lifesteal buffs last patch succeeded in introducing Bloodthirster as a viable first option and otherwise ended up power neutral. We’re opting for a more direct buff to her early lane agency through a small bump on her most used ability’s damage, and an early game-focused buff on her ability to run down her opponents with style!
Patch 15.11
Samira
Q lifesteal effectiveness increased. W damage decreased. R lifesteal effectiveness increased.
Samira is statistically fine, but she's very sharply dependent upon getting kills in lane and struggles to teamfight without a large lead. We're bumping up her lifesteal synergy in order to enable builds that aren't all about maximum damage and taking a bit away from her burst combo to compensate.
Patch 15.3
Samira
E Attack Speed Duration increased.
While Samira experts are actually performing fairly well, we’d like to open up success to more of her playerbase. This attack speed buff should be helpful for anyone who can’t reliably combo into Inferno Trigger in a fraction of a second and for any games where jumping into the enemy team would be met with instant death. So here’s a bit more juice for a basic attack pattern, both in early lane and teamfights.
Patch 14.18
Samira
Q damage increased.
Lane strength has been a high priority for picks in pro, yet Samira has been mostly missing from a space that she should be a viable option in. We want to be mindful of her solo queue ban rate, but also want to add some meaningful early game strength back into her kit that won’t make her too oppressive.
Patch 14.11
Samira
These were all adjustments we made in the mid patch for 14.10 but noting again for visibility. These are already live.
Patch 13.17
Samira
Base health increased.
Samira is the final champion in our list of marksmen who lost a lot of durability recently. Without the early Shieldbow, she's been feeling really squishy. She should certainly have some risk for her high-kill, reset-oriented gameplay, and if she wants to stall out her damage to buy Shieldbow second, she's more than welcome to do so. But for now, we're giving her some baseline durability to let her be a bit safer when she plays aggressively in the early game.
Patch 13.5
Samira
Passive movement speed per stack increased.
Samira was nerfed in patch 13.4 as a way to address her early game snowballing and drain tanking. However, this nerf went too far and made her weak when she was supposed to be balanced. These changes simply walk back the severity of some of those nerfs. You still shouldn't have to ban her, but now Samira players should be able to enjoy playing Samira.
Patch 13.4
Samira
Passive early movement speed reduced. R lifesteal effectiveness reduced.
Samira has been performing exceptionally well for several months now and her ban rate has skyrocketed. These changes are hopefully a win for everyone: those who are frustrated victims will be less frustrated and Samira mains will find she's still strong but actually available to pick! Everyone's happy!
Patch 12.11
Samira
AD growth increased. Q AD scaling increased.
Since the Durability Update, Samira has been struggling to find those explosive leads and snowball opportunities. We're increasing her scaling a bit so she's got more potential to style on her enemies in later stages of the game.
Patch 12.5
Samira
Health growth and armor growth increased. R cooldown decreased.
For a thrillseeker, the Desert Rose hasn’t been very daring recently. We’re ramping up her durability over time so she can more comfortably stack her Style in big late-game teamfights before getting focused down.
Patch 12.2
Samira
R base damage increased.
Now that her mid-game transition is less reliable with the Shieldbow nerfs, we're giving Samira a bit more baseline potential in her R so she can snowball in style.
Patch 11.24
Samira
R no longer costs mana.
Few things feel worse than running out of mana for Samira's ult after getting all her passive stacks ready. This mana cost was originally designed to control her early waveclear, but since that hasn't really been a problem, it became the perfect opportunity to bring her back—in style.
Patch 11.5
Samira
Base damage growth increased. Q damage ratio increased later.
Samira is struggling to keep up after her nerfs last patch, so we’re upping this thrillseeker’s scaling so that she can continue to slay when late game rolls around.
Patch 11.4
Samira
Passive bonus damage ratio decreased early and now scales. Q damage ratio decreased early and now scales. W duration decreased. E targeting adjusted; dash speed decreased.
