Patch 16.4
Syndra has been rising through the ranks recently, with high CDR builds performing especially well. We don't want to hit how she feels with her Q poke and main defensive tool in Scatter the Weak, so instead we're going to take at some of her more guaranteed damage.

We’re delivering some power-neutral adjustments to Syndra, making her a stronger lane bully and teamfight carry mage while siphoning some power that should disproportionately impact non-pro players.

We're adjusting Syndra's incentives to make her more of a burst mage and less of a high-uptime full mobility kiter who relies on high haste to whittle her opponents down. In order to make burst builds competitive to high high-haste ones, we're tweaking some of her numbers
Patch 14.22
W damage decreased.
Syndra is too good of a mid laner right now and deals a lot of hard-to-avoid damage once she begins scaling. We're reducing her non-ultimate burst since she often doesn't need to R to deal significant amounts of damage, which lets her play back without much counterplay.
Patch 14.16
R damage increased.
Syndra's midscope was pretty successful in making her early game less oppressive, but as a result she's all but disappeared from Pro play. We want to give her an opportunity to transcend to the highest levels of play again, so we're increasing some of her Pro-skewed strengths.
Patch 13.19
Q magic damage increased.
Syndra is an iconic mid lane Champion who has historically been stuck in Pro jail. Thankfully, her update in 12.19 has given us the space to make her strong in the hands of most players without being a Pro play problem. With this newfound power budget, we'll be increasing her Q base damage slightly to help her get early lane priority, amping up a slim strategic niche among mages.

Upgraded W bonus damage decreased, AP scaling increased. E AP ratio decreased, cooldown increased. Q bugfix.
Since her mid-scope update in patch 12.19, Syndra’s been slowly gaining winrate and popularity. While she's meant to be a powerful scaler, Syndra's mid-game waveclear and burst potential let her Transcend a bit too safely. We’re cutting back some of her long-range power with Scatter the Weak and shifting a portion of it into Force of Will. Now Syndra needs to be a bit more close and personal before disintegrating her enemies.
Patch 12.19
Midscope update, all abilities adjusted.
Syndra's been in an awkward spot for a while now. Previously an iconic mid lane mage, balancing her around Pro Play has led to Syndra losing her unique identity, leaving her with so much untapped power. And that’s how we got to Syndra’s midscope update! With this update, we’re aiming to recapture Syndra’s fantasy of unlimited power in a new way: a brand new passive that upgrades each of her abilities over time. These changes should help Syndra players feel as though their power is growing over time and give more compelling upgrades ranging from more explosive burst combos to debilitating crowd control. Each of Syndra’s abilities will receive new, powerful effects when upgraded through her passive and will also get a brand new upgraded icon. Each of the changes is outlined below, but we hope you enjoy this midscope and this whole new world to toy with!
Patch 11.15
Q cost decreased early.
Syndra’s 10.13 mana nerf was intended to bring her down in Pro play, but it was only somewhat effective, while also causing painful detriment to her early game. Now that she’s much less present in Pro, we’re reverting the change and will find another tactic if she poses a problem in the future.
