Orianna
Orianna is arguably the defining mid pick of the current pro meta, receiving the highest total picks and bans in First Stand-qualifying leagues. As with Azir and Taliyah this patch, we’re hoping to broaden the top-tier pool and allow teams to have different takes on mid lane. In the hands of a true expert, her laning phase can feel unassailable, so we’re focusing on her early game in the hope of opening up some weaknesses.

Orianna
At higher skill levels Orianna's early wave clear is far too safe and her optimized builds make her too tanky for her to be exposed to any real risks, so we're looking to re-introduce some risk to her overall kit. We want to incentivize Orianna to build more damage and less tank, so we're weakening her early wave clear power spikes so she has to pick up more AP to clear waves, something most players are already doing and thus shouldn't be impacted much by.

Orianna has hit a point where she’s in need of a small buff. Her mana costs are among the most painful in the game, so we’re looking to address that by allowing her to cast her most spammable spell sliiiiiiiightly more often.

Orianna has remained underperforming in a mid-lane meta that is largely unfavorable towards her, so we're looking to give our favorite ballerina more of a fighting chance in the dance battle of mid lane by bringing her primary poke ability in line with other champions.

Orianna has fallen a bit behind her mid lane counterparts following the changes to mage items this season. We're looking to give her some power by bringing her base AD up to let her early attacks match other mages when combined with her passive.

Orianna has been a few steps behind on her tango routine recently, especially during her mid-game power spike. We want to preserve her current early game weakness while letting her feel a bit more powerful when she's at her strongest and consistently hitting enemies with her W.

Orianna is just a little weak right now, coming up just a tiny bit short of the main stage. We'd like to tune Orianna as a fragile, low mobility carry with strong and satisfying spells (more 3k ELO shockwaves), rather than making her more consistent with less high moments. This will help her from being held back for regular players on account of Pro Play. Long term, we'd like to balance her around her Ult being the highest satisfaction, highest counterplay and most explosive moment of her kit. We're giving her a wee bit more damage on her ultimate to help give her an extra push that should (hopefully) put her into the spotlight.

Orianna is still stuck as an understudy after her last round of buffs where we didn’t quite go far enough to make the buff meaningfully impactful. We’re giving her a teeny bit more power in hopes that the ballerina can finally, once again, take her shot at the main stage.

Our lady of clockwork has become the staple mid lane mage in Pro play. Armed with both safe early game laning and strong mid-to-late game teamfight power, she’s a reliable source of utility and damage without much of a tradeoff. To even things out, we’re tapping down her early durability in the early phases of the game.
