Patch 15.23
Sion
Sion is pretty playable in the jungle but is slightly weak and deserving of a small nudge for players who want to yell “COWARDS!” as they barrel up and down the river. We're just delivering a light touch to see how many players want to try their hand at Si-ungle.
Patch 15.16
Sion
Passive health loss decreased. E armor shred increased. R damage increased.
AD Sion hasn’t been in a good spot as of late, so we’re here to help him out. We’re starting by reverting Sion's passive tickrate back to what it was before we nerfed it, giving him more time to beat people to death with his fists, and allowing his damage to be more potent when he snipes someone with an E. Finally, we also want the train's impact to be all the more explosive by increasing his bonus AD Ratio on his R. While we know these changes may be broadly power positive, we targeted areas that make AD Sion happier in particular.
Patch 15.4
Sion
Base armor and health regeneration increased.
Sion's not in the best state at the moment, and since we're about to nerf a bunch of his main items we're setting him up with some proactive compensation buffs. We're doing this by giving him some base defensive power that he lost from his items. Additionally, Sion currently struggles in lane with a lot of losing matchups, so we're targeting his base armor instead of armor scaling to specifically help him in the early game.
Patch 14.14
Sion
W damage increased.
Sion's just a touch weak at the moment, so we'd like to bring him up to the level of some of the stronger top lane tanks. We're doing this by raising some of his early damage threat when facing other top laners.
Patch 14.6
Sion
Q damage increased. W shield increased.
Once Sion lost his hard-binding to Heartsteel, he lost a lot of scaling, a lot of damage, and a lot of functional health, since the whole system fed back into itself. This patch, we’re attempting to bring Sion back to his scaling tank glory days, letting him truly shine in games where he’s performing well.
Patch 13.9
Sion
Passive health decay increased.
Since the durability update and the addition of Heartsteel as a health-stacking item, Sion's passive has begun lasting far longer than it was able to in the past. This was an aspect of Sion's kit that we felt needed to be brought back in line with its intended design.
Patch 13.1
Sion
Base Health increased. Q full charge damage increased.
Our 12.23 buffs to Sion undershot our goals, partially due to the Q buff only affecting snapcasts of the ability. This round we’ll be buffing up fully charged Qs as well as increasing base durability to help give Sion the boost he needs to be more competitive.
Patch 12.23
Sion
Base mana increased, mana growth increased. Q base damage increased.
Sion, like many other tanks that relied on Immolate for waveclear, is struggling to farm well in Preseason, decreasing his overall power. We’re giving him a bit more mana and Q damage to help him better match his opponent’s waveclear.
Patch 12.9
Sion
Undead Sion's Passive damage against structures reduced.
Sion's been a bit too glorious in death. Although "inting Sion" had a good run, we believe it isn't a sustainable direction for him or League in the long term. Taking down towers by split pushing should certainly be doable even while behind, but when the strat requires repeatedly dying, it’s not very fun for all parties involved. We're nerfing undead Sion's split pushing power in order to restore some balance to his circle of life.
Patch 11.21
Sion
W shield increased.
Our most recent buffs to Sion's shield in 11.19 were clearly not strong enough for the juggernaut, so... Here he is again!
Patch 11.19
Sion
W shield increased.
Sion isn't doing so hot right now, so we're carefully buffing his shield to help him lane more stably.
