Patch 16.1
Yasuo
Yasuo won't be much different this year. Considering he doubles how much critical strike chance he gets from each item, he just isn't allowed to crit for full damage.
Patch 15.14
Yasuo
AD growth decreased.
Yasuo has been quite strong as of late, and with our incoming buffs to Blade of the Ruined King and Kraken Slayer, we want to preemptively balance the scales, so we're opting for a simple change to his AD growth to keep Yasuo feeling relatively similar to his current strength.
Patch 15.4
Yasuo
Passive critical damage reduction removed.
Yasuo hasn't been able to find his stride recently, so we're here to put some wind behind his metaphorical sails this patch. We'd like it if Yasuo players were more willing to buy early crit chance, so we're softening his crit damage modifier from way back when base crit damage was 200%.
Patch 14.20
Yasuo
Q crit damage increased. R bonus armor penetration on crit increased.
Yasuo was unsurprisingly hit when crit itemization became weaker. However, we’d still like if he was a critical strike enjoyer, so we’re making critical strike a stronger stat for him.
Patch 14.15
Yasuo
Base armor increased. E damage increased.
Yasuo’s early game should be much more active than current and he should be able to rely on short trades around his E to get an edge in the early game. As Yasuo’s currently weaker than he ought to be, these are strict buffs to the OG wind samurai.
Patch 14.10
Yasuo
Passive critical strike multiplier decreased, bonus AD for excess critical strike chance increased.
Now that we're going back to 25% critical strike chance on legendary items, we're adjusting champions like Yasuo that directly depend on certain thresholds. With Yasuo, our goal is for him to hit 100% critical strike chance once he hits 2 items.
Patch 13.15
Yasuo
Passive shield scaling adjusted.
Yasuo hasn't fully recovered from the Midseason update that removed Immortal Shieldbow as a viable early option. We're continuing the trend of giving him enough durability to survive early and mid-game fights without having to rely on Blade of the Ruined King or Death's Dance, which go against his core fantasy of wielding crit. The change in this patch ends up being a 30-50% larger shield in the mid game, even if level 1 and 18 are unchanged.
Patch 13.7
Yasuo
Passive shield stronger at later levels.
After the marksman item adjustments we introduced back in patch 13.1b, Yasuo fell behind the power curve and got the wind knocked out of him. These adjustments should help him get some wind behind his sails which should help him find some more flow.
Patch 12.7
Yasuo
Base health increased. R cooldown decreased early.
Despite my match history, Yasuo and Yone have been relatively weak (and the sustain nerfs in 12.6 didn’t do them any favors either). Rather than increasing their damage, we're giving the wind brothers more opportunity to flex their skills. For Yasuo, we're increasing his early combat durability and ability to synergize with teammates during laning phase.
Patch 12.2
Yasuo
Q damage ratio increased.
Like Samira, the wind brothers were hit hard by the Immortal Shieldbow nerfs. We're compensating for this by returning some of that power into their more skill-dependent abilities.
Patch 11.7
Yasuo
Base attack damage growth increased.
We left Yasuo feeling winded from our nerfs to Immortal Shieldbow in 11.6, so we're partially walking back our adjustment to help him catch his breath.
Patch 11.1
Yasuo
Base AD growth decreased. Passive bonus crit strike chance increased; excess crit strike to AD conversion decreased.
We're giving both brothers a stronger two-item power spike. This will give them the 100% crit strike chance that they used to enjoy pre-item rework. To balance the increase in early damage, we're decreasing their overall damage output. As a reminder, Guinsoo's Rageblade was changed in 10.25 to interact differently with Yasuo and Yone's Intent passives, which also impacts their general crit power strike. We're also clarifying the excess crit strike chance to bonus AD conversion tooltip for easier comprehension.
