Patch 15.12

R damage increased, chain lightning damage increased.
Zeri’s another champion that can be shocking when she makes it into the pro scene. Since she’s all about creating those electrifying moments, we’re giving her a bit more power into her ultimate which is when she should truly shine (both figuratively and literally).
Patch 15.8

R chain lightning damage increased.
Though Zeri's numbers look reasonable, she has completely fallen out of the bot lane meta despite being popular in the past, so we're giving her a shot in the arm. We're juicing her high-power team fighting to make her live out those carry fantasies better.
Patch 14.18

Passive damage decreased.
Zeri is one of the highest agency ADCs in League of Legends. For any situation, she probably has the means to outplay her opposition, either killing them or at least getting to safety (or if you’re me... wall-riding into 5 opponents and instantly dying). Champions like this tend to require lower than average win rates in order to feel fair, which is why we’re nerfing a champion with a sub-50% win rate for most players. She’s also at risk of becoming a default mid laner at Worlds this year, which is another concern. With all this in mind, we’re giving her some mid-skewed nerfs, removing early flat passive damage and some back-loaded level scaling, as her passive usage in general is more prevalent in mid lane.
Patch 14.8

Base health decreased.
Zeri was a big winner from 14.6's crit item buffs. Though we brought down Statikk Shiv a little, she risks becoming the most sought-after champion at MSI, so we're taking away a little bit of early game durability to open up lane bullies as a tactical counter in lane.
Patch 14.3

Base AD increased. R cooldown decreased. Recommended items updated.
Zeri was shocked by the item system overhaul as players are now opting to build Experimental Hexplate on her for access to the ultimate Ability Haste. Since she could use the help at all skill levels, we’ll be giving her some generic buffs to her base AD and ultimate cooldown which should be appreciable for all players, but also help Zeri get away from depending on Hexplate. We also updated her recommended items which we expect to improve her overall power levels as well.
Patch 13.24

AD growth increased. W damage increased.
Zeri hasn't been zipping and zapping around like she used to and her battery power level is low, so we're giving her a small damage buff with the goal to amp her up ever so slightly.
Patch 13.19

Base movement speed decreased.
Zeri has had the highest Pro ADC presence in top Leagues this season, and with the 13.18 Xayah nerf she's expected to become even more prevalent of a pick at Worlds. To ensure more bot lane diversity, we've decided to nerf her. While her solo queue win rate isn't particularly problematic, she still has a very high Elite pick rate and is clearly a contested Champion. We're targeting her base movement speed as she already has plenty of mobility with her E and R, and we want to increase her vulnerability throughout the game.
Patch 13.12

Movement speed increased. Passive removed, Q passive added in its place. Q no longer activates Sheen. E critical strike multiplier increased.
Zeri has made a resurgence thanks to her tanky Trinity Force build and the return of certain enchanters. In this patch we have two goals for Zeri: stop her from itemizing like a bruiser and removing her synergies with shielding enchanters. Zeri's mobility is one of the core parts of her design, zipping and zapping all around the Rift like a lightning bolt. However, given this mobility we don't think it's okay for Zeri to easily pick up health so that she becomes both hard-to-catch AND hard-to-kill. Due to this we're removing Q's synergy with Sheen that allowed Zeri to itemize as a bruiser and her shield sapping passive which gave her too much damage mitigation. On the second goal, Zeri's shielding passive has proven to be much too powerful when paired with the right enchanters which meant Zeri's strength was always tied to her support's strength and balancing her always meant balancing around enchanters. Charging Zeri up with the right support really overloads her in Pro play in particular, so we've opted to rip off the band-aid here by removing her passive altogether. With this change we'll be able to balance Zeri more around her own personal power and less around her support which will let us get her into a better spot long term.
Patch 13.7

Health growth decreased. Passive shield absorption decreased. R AD scaling decreased.
Zeri's been a mainstay of the Marksmen meta throughout the year, and finally has risen to the absolute top with buffed items and nerfed competition. With the newfound durability in her runes and Marksmen items, she doesn't need as much innate durability. We’re also zapping some of her guaranteed burst damage, which is uncharacteristically high for a hyperscaling DPS champion.
Patch 13.1

Attack Damage growth decreased. Q base damage decreased.
Zeri's rework has succeeded in shifting her to a new and healthier play pattern, but she’s been a bit strong in higher brackets of play since her changes in 12.23. Her shorter range brought in many new avenues of counterplay early in the game which was one of our major goals, but she's still a bit too consistent of a DPS threat at her three item power spike. As follow up to her changes in the last patch, we’re toning down her scaling damage a bit and hitting her favorite cat so Zeri is a bit less scary of a carry.
Patch 12.23

All abilities adjusted.
Zeri's been a turbulent champion over the past year, with an electrifying kit, explosive pentakills… aaand a plethora of balance changes. We're taking one more big swing at our favorite lightning-themed Zaunite to address some issues that set her apart as the best marksman in Pro play this year. Zeri's combination of long range, high move speed, and scaling damage gave her little to no weaknesses in a coordinated environment like Pro play. We're shifting Zeri's playstyle by shortening her range so that she has to get up close and personal to make sparks fly and opponents die. This comes with revamped base stats, a higher damage Burst Fire, and an adjusted Spark Surge. So even though Zeri is being amped up, opponents should now have many more opportunities to catch lightning before it bolts off to safety. SPARKS READY!
Patch 12.16

Q AD scaling decreased. W AD and AP scaling decreased.
Zeri has remained at the top of the Professional meta despite repeated changes over the past several patches. We’re nerfing her for now so we can reassess her state and path forward after Worlds. We’re also taking this opportunity to nerf the AP ratio on her W, as this play pattern has gameplay issues similar to AP Kai'Sa.
Patch 12.14

Q Passive adjusted. R bonus magic damage decreased.
Zeri's ability to win duels and wavepush due to her increased damage to low health enemies has made her unfair-y to her opponents. We're opting to preserve this mechanic as a tool to help her last hit minions, but eliminating its strengths when it comes to dealing with low health enemies more broadly.
Patch 12.12

Health regen growth increased. W base damage increased, AD and AP ratios decreased.
Zeri's W damage was a bit shocking with the crit multiplier, so we're nerfing that and compensating with a little regen boost.
Patch 12.11

Q active damage increased, charged basic attack AP ratio and damage based on target's missing health increased, slow on charged basic attacks removed. W AD scaling increased, slow strength decreased, cooldown decreased. E cooldown decreased, cooldown reduction per basic attack and crit decreased. R cooldown decreased, move speed per stack decreased, stacks per champion hit with initial cast increased.
Zeri, Zeri, we've nerfed you so much you haven't been remotely scary. So this time around, we're giving you more damage to make you merry. That said, buffs come at a cost, and we're being wary, so we're lowering your utility and mobility, you electric carry.
Patch 12.7

Base AD, AD growth, and armor decreased; health growth increased. Q base damage decreased, AD ratio increased; now applies on-hit effects only once per cast; now grants at most one R stack and E cooldown reduction once per cast, but crits can grant one more of each. W base damage decreased, AD and AP ratio increased. E cooldown increased early and decreases with rank again. R cooldown increased early and decreased late.
Zeri, Zeri, you’ve been a little too unfair-y. Despite the nerfs in previous patches, Zeri has been shockingly resilient and continues to dominate Pro play. With this round of nerfs, we’re aiming to bring her bruiser build more in line with her crit build, as well as make her stacks and on-hits more predictable. This should give enemies more time to catch Zeri before she starts zipping circles around them.
Patch 12.4

Uncharged basic attack base damage and AP ratio decreased; damage amp against low-health enemies increased. Charged basic attack slow rate and duration decreased. Q base damage decreased but now also multiplied in crits; excess AS to AD ratio increased. W slow decreased early; cooldown increased early but now decreases with rank. E cooldown decreased. R bonus attack speed no longer increases with rank.
Zeri's spark still has a bit more shock than she needs, so we're nerfing her overall power in a way that should hit her bruiser builds harder than her crit builds.
Patch 12.3

Base move speed reduced. Fully charged basic attack damage decreased. R chain lightning damage decreased and can now critically strike.
Zeri's Trinity Force build has ended up being much stronger than expected, skyrocketing her winrate once players swapped over from crit. We're targeting these nerfs to ideally hit her Tri Force build more than her crit ones, but because there's some overlap, we're compensating the latter with a bit more zap on her ult.
