Jax
Passive attack speed increased.
Jax’s long-held niche is a scaling and relentless side lane skirmisher, so we want to lean into that a bit more by giving him some more bonus attack speed from his passive. This should help him split better and effectively win longer duels in the side lane.

Health Growth and Base Mana Regen increased. R damage increased.
Jax is weak, especially at lower ranks. With the removal of biscuits mana, Jax’s mana issues have become a more real problem, so we’re buffing base mana regen to compensate. We’re also giving him a bit more health per level since his hp scaling was well below other comparable champions in his class and using this as a catch all generic power buff. Buffing R trigger damage also as just an all skill levels power increase.

R cooldown increased and damage decreased.
Jax is performing a little better than he ought to right now and while we're happy with his recent increases to durability and sustained damage, we're bringing down his burst damage to place more importance on that longer combat pattern.

R armor, MR, on-hit damage, and armor per champion hit increased.
We’re happy with how our Jax changes back in 14.14 gave his opponents more ability to counterplay him, but they also left him a bit weaker than we’d like. For these changes we’re opting to give him some more late game skewed power that should particularly benefit him in higher levels of play where his teamfight durability becomes increasingly important.

We're giving Jax a slight nerf to his E this patch to help reduce how powerful (and frustrating) of a dueling and early wave control tool it can be.

E cooldown increased. R mana cost increased.
Jax has been a strong top laner in both Pro and solo queue for quite some time now. With the upcoming Shojin buff we'll be increasing the cooldown on his E as it currently has great synergies with Spear of Shojin and we'd like to reduce the frequency at which Jax has access to this impactful ability. We'll also be reverting an unintentional mana buff that shipped with the Jax update earlier this year.

Base health increased, health growth increased. E AP ratio adjusted, damage calculation adjusted. R passive on-hit damage decreased, bonus armor and magic resist decreased early.
Jax is intended to be a late game monster, but his recent update made him a bit too strong during his laning phase, especially once he gets a point into his new ultimate. We're hitting his early game with a small nerf while leaving his powerful late game intact. We’re also adjusting his E so it's more rewarding with the more attacks you dodge.

Midscope update. All abilities adjusted. Jax’s midscope update is on the smaller side compared to our previous onces. Overall, we like his simpler gameplay and kit, but we felt there was room to make his ultimate ability more interesting. Additionally, we’ve shifted his AP ratios around to buff up his burstier AP playstyle that’s seen play in the past. All of that said, unfortunately Jax still doesn’t have a real weapon…
