Armor growth decreased.
Jarvan IV has been overperforming thanks to the combination of his ability to engage well and his tankiness. We want to level the playing field in the jungle this patch, so we're lowering his armor over game time to create clearer windows of vulnerability for his opponents to take advantage of.

Q damage increased.
Jarvan has fallen off in recent times in the jungle which means he has room for some damage buffs that will allow him to carry a little harder and have more impact in skirmishes. We're buffing his Q base damage and scaling as it is one of his most reliable damage tools. It also tends to be more powerful at lower skill levels which should prevent this buff from only making him viable in Pro.

Jarvan IV is a valuable Pro pick who isn't currently being played much, not to mention he could also use a bit more power in solo queue to help him out. We’re buffing his passive to bring up his early clear and skirmishing, as more power here should feel good across the board, but it's also a lever particularly important in Pro.

Jarvan IV is one of the simpler junglers to play, so any time his win rate in lower-skilled brackets barely crests 50%, it means he's actually weak and needs some help. To buff him, we're partially reverting the 13.18 passive nerf as it was a satisfying aspect of his kit that gave better clear speed and kill-securing that benefits players of all calibers.

After the changes to Spear of Shojin earlier this year, Jarvan no longer has to be tuned around excessively high ability haste. Since he's currently in need of a little extra power, we're reverting some changes we originally made when Shojin was much more powerful on him.

Jarvan IV has been very prominent in solo queue with solid pick, ban, and win rates. He currently accesses a large amount of haste through his build, which is leading to oppressive Q-E uptime. To reduce this particular strength, we’re increasing the cooldown on his Q which should still be accessible once you’ve built some Ability Haste, but will not be quite as oppressive as it is now.

Jarvan IV is performing very well, as he got a sizable buff from the Shojin and Goredrinker changes last patch. His most common later slot purchases are Frozen Heart, Spirit Visage, and Guardian Angel which enable him to be quite durable and still deal plenty of damage. This is partially due to his passive, so we'll be nerfing it to tone down his damage in a way that still incentivizes him to build AD.

Ever since the W buffs, Jarvan has been excelling in Solo Queue. He has always been a strong early ganker, but now he can build damage and reliably transition his lead due to the AD ratio on his W. We’re looking to tone down his power in a way that still incentivizes him to build AD, while also reducing his early gank strength since he now scales a lot better with items.

Last patch we gave Jarvan a shiny new AD ratio which did wonders for his W. Unfortunately it also pushed him into the top tier of junglers. While we like his shield having some real power, we’re rolling back a bit of the buff last patch so he’s just a bit less durable when he’s snowballing a lead.

Base armor increased, W cooldown decreased, shield strength now scales with AD, shield duration decreased.
Golden Aegis hasn’t been the shiniest ability in League’s history (although the name may be misleading). Jarvan’s W has been intentionally kept a bit underwhelming as it has been a great defensive spell for low-economy junglers in pro play. However, since the Durability update Jarvan’s needed to fill the role of a relevant backline threat, so we’re beefing up his shield to reward his more AD oriented builds.

Jarvan IV has been struggling in a world of extended combat duration and our last round of buffs in patch 12.12 didn’t aid the King as much as we had hoped. This time around we’re increasing his ability to make plays by increasing the uptime of his flag and drag combo.

Jarvan IV wasn't the hardest hit by the Durability update, but his sustained damage output hasn't been left unscathed. We're letting him get a few more rotations in now that bursting enemies has gotten much harder,

Jarvan IV's been dominating the jungle meta with his exemplary ganks and super fast clear. We're partially reverting his 11.16 buffs—more specifically, the part that helped his dueling and clearing capabilities.

The Exemplar of Demacia hasn’t been excelling in any level of play. We’re amping up Cataclysm to help him make a bigger impact while also buffing his dueling and clearing potential.
