Patch 16.6
We're back for another Tryndamere buff as he's still underperforming relative to other top laners. Arguably the highlight of Tryndamere is right clicking enemy champions and killing them with crits. He can already do that extremely well in the early game, so how about doing it in the late game, too?
Patch 16.3
After his micropatch buffs back in 26.1, Tryndamere's power level is close but not quite back to its former glory so we'd like to bring him back up to where he was and continue pushing him toward strong sustained damage.
Patch 16.1
Tryndamere is getting some real gameplay updates with this patch and some very real nerfs due to how much critical strike chance he normally has. To weaken how incredible his early game all-ins can be with 200% crit damage, we're nerfing his early bonus AD from Q and nerfing his early E as well. However, he's also getting some new tools. First, his Q now gives full value at 10% remaining health, meaning he can get the full bonus attack damage during his ultimate and it no longer has a disincentive for ranking up. Second, his W will now slow enemies any time they are running away from Tryndamere, regardless of where they were looking when he cast it. We expect this substantial increase in reliability is a big buff, so we've preemptively nerfed the slow itself. Though the slow duration is going down, the AD reduction is still the full four seconds regardless of facing.
Patch 14.20
Attack speed ratio increased, armor growth increased.
Tryndamere got hit pretty hard when armor became better and crit items got weaker. However, we’d still like Tryndamere to have solid DPS, especially late game where he’s lacking. Since he has no built in attack speed buffs in his kit, we’re making sure he has enough access to rapid attacking and can survive shorter fights.

Q bonus attack damage decreased. E damage decreased.
Tryndamere's passive got stronger in 14.10 and now he's a laning monster who takes over games very quickly. We're targeting his extremely strong early game with these changes as it makes him a pushing lane bully that doesn't have to care about anything else.
Patch 14.10
Passive critical strike chance cap increased.
Now that we're going back to 25% critical strike chance on legendary items, we're adjusting champions like Tryndamere that directly depend on certain thresholds. For Tryndamere, our goal is for him to hit 100% crit at 2 items and full Fury.
Patch 14.6
Attack speed growth increased.
Tryndamere lost some power back in the patch 14.4 nerf to Lethal Tempo, so we'd like to give some back in a way that doesn't buff his level 1 all-in. In this patch, we’re giving him some more Attack Speed growth as compensation for his primary rune being nerfed, as he didn't deserve (nor have room for) the collateral damage there.
Patch 13.18
Health growth decreased, base attack damage decreased.
After the changes in the last patch Tryndamere definitely found success with his new attack range. While we did overshoot on release, we believe this is a step in the right direction for him long term because it provides an interesting skill test for players in the form of managing spacing. Previously, this test looked more like “can I get on top of the enemy?” and after that it became a matter of stat checking them. Going forward we’re looking to balance Tryndamere at 175 attack range which should allow us to move power out of pure damage and into other components of his kit that reward smart plays.
Patch 13.17
Attack range increased. Attack damage decreased
Tryndamere has been having a hard time striking fear into the hearts of his opponents, so we’re looking to give him power in a way that brings him more in line with more modern melee champions. Quite a few other melee skirmishers also currently have 175 range (Trundle, Master Yi, and Darius to name a few), so we expect this to feel more intuitive for players. That said, we’re aware that an additional 50 range is a lot, so we’re preemptively nerfing Trynadmere’s base attack damage which should also reduce his ability to gain leads via level 1 and 2 all-ins. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Tryndamere following this update though.
Patch 13.5
Health growth and AD growth increased.
Tryndamere has fallen a bit behind in terms of his power levels, but rather than buffing his early game, these buffs should help Tryndamere to scale better into the match with a bit more survivability and some harder hitting auto attacks.
Patch 12.11
Q healing increased. R cooldown decreased.
Tryndamere took a big tumble in patch 12.10. His healing from Fury comes at a high cost so we're reverting the pre-emptive healing nerfs we gave him in patch 12.10 while giving his ultimate more up time in games.
Patch 12.6
E cooldown reduction per crit decreased. R cooldown increased.
Tryndamere is too strong at the highest levels of play. His kit scales too well with Ability Haste, so we're readjusting his cooldowns to account for the higher amounts of Ability Haste available to him through items.
Patch 11.4
Base damage increased.
Tryndamere’s been weak in lane, so we’re bringing our furious fellow’s base AD up to help him out.
