Patch 15.23
Rek'Sai top has been an enjoyable spectator experience but a fairly miserable one to play against and she's significantly overpowered for those who know what they're doing. We don't want to remove this role from viability but we'd like to reduce just now immovable she is through her lane sustain. Her jungle will take a small hit from this nerf, but she can sustain a small nerf there, as well.
Patch 15.16
Base AD increased. Bugfixes.
Last patch’s Rek’Sai changes left her deeper underground than we wanted, so we’re here to deliver some buffs aimed at her early clear, which is not in the best state right now. We’re also fixing a long-standing tunnel bug that could leave her far from where she wanted to be and a more recently-introduced bug that allowed her to fail a Q-attack.

Base Armor and Armor Growth decreased. W knock up lockout decreased at higher ranks. E deals adjusted true damage. R adjusted.
Rek’Sai’s been sad with her lack of true damage, so we’re adding it back so that Rek’Sai players can experience all three pretty text colors again. We’re trying to nudge her toward a more complete fighter pattern by making her ultimate not necessarily an execute, giving her more casts of Furious Bite, and giving her access to better late-game crowd control. We’re also delivering some quality of life that should make her ultimate’s usability better and soften Furious Bite’s failure cases. The nerfs you see in this patch are here to compensate for the new powers she’s getting but our overall goal is for Rek’Sai to be stronger than before.

Rek'Sai is brawling with the best of them, but currently her damage comes out a bit too fast, so with these changes we're looking to slow her down by removing some of the upfront damage she has.
Patch 14.7
Passive fury gained from hitting minions, wards, and plants reduced and healing reduced at lower levels.
Rek’Sai is slightly too strong as a jungler, but not unreasonably so. As a top laner, though, she’s an immovable object. We’re pulling her top-lane specific levers in order to bring down that early sustain with a smaller nerf expected for her in the jungle.
Patch 14.6
W bugfix. R QoL change and bugfix.
When we changed Burrow to always damage everyone inside the circle, we mistakenly removed its ability to always hit her auto-attack target, regardless of its actual range. We’re returning that functionality to this patch in addition to fixing another bug where her R could fail to cast in very specific scenarios.
Patch 14.5
Various QoL updates and bugfixes. E damage and monster cap increased. R damage increased.
Rek'Sai's kit update has done a lot for raising interest (her play rate initially doubled) but she landed weaker than we hoped, so we're coming in with a large array of buffs. Most notably, her attack animations are being sped up and we're returning the un-cancelable Queen's Wrath attack, which was temporarily removed to prevent another bug that has since been fixed. Additionally, we're buffing her strongest E and R to help them have a satisfying amount of damage.
Patch 14.4
All abilities adjusted.
In her current state, Rek'Sai tends to feel non-functional as a fighter, causing her core builds to often be full lethality just to accomplish anything in game. This patch, we're hoping to give Rek'Sai some exciting things to do in early, mid, and late game. The primary buffs are substantially snappier tunnel usage and a super juiced passive that plays up her ability to weave in and out of combat to recoup health between cooldowns. As there's a lot of power in these gains, we'll be taking down her burst damage to prevent her from getting out of hand. We also have a host of modernization and re-scripting updates to Rek'Sai. Queen's Wrath is now an auto attack instead of a spell, meaning it scales appropriately with attack speed. Tunnels no longer have hitches in the middle of their animations when you're entering them. Her cooldowns have been synced up to make jungling more intuitive as Burrow, Prey Seeker, and Unburrow will line up from level 2. These changes, in addition to a whole host of adjustments on the backend, should also make her easier to update going forward. One thing we'll be keeping our eyes on is her balance between fighter and tank builds, which will thankfully be really easy to tweak!

Rek'Sai gained a lot of power with the Stridebreaker buffs a few patches ago so we're taking another swing and bringing down her power level. Instead of primarily targeting her early damage (though we are providing some small changes here), we're targeting the power level of burrowing, which high MMR players use disproportionately well, as she's not nearly as strong in other skill brackets.
Patch 13.16
Q damage adjusted
Rek'Sai has been performing far too well ever since her 13.11 update and while she's been tapped down a couple times in previous patches, she's still the absolute queen of the early game and still stronger than she was in 13.9. She simply can't have the level of early dominance she currently has, especially in higher skill brackets where players are better at warding (which she can bypass) and closing out early leads (which she easily secures). This change of converting Q into Total Attack Damage is a damage nerf until champion level 13, where it turns into a buff, and is also extra incentive to finish maxing Q, since ranks now add functional base damage and gold scaling.

W - Unburrow base damage decreased. E damage decreased.
Rek'Sai gained a lot of power with her update a few patches ago, and while she was nerfed last patch, we didn't go quite far enough. We're targeting her overwhelming early gank power since she already has such great target access, which means she doesn't need to also guarantee the kill quite so easily.
Patch 13.13
Base AD decreased, base health decreased.
We're happy to see that updates to Rek'Sai's passive healing and Queen's Wrath ability in 13.11 have shifted her into a fighter pattern, but we feel that her ability to clear camps and shrug off damage during skirmishes is too strong. To address this, we're reducing some of Rek’Sai’s stats to slow her down in the Jungle and reduce the safety of her engages. You pop off queen, just a little bit less please.

Passive refresh rate increased, heal increased. Q (Unburrowed) cooldown now decreases with rank, buff duration decreased, attacks refresh buff duration, buff no longer ends prematurely when underground, (Burrowed) vision duration increased. W adjusted.
Rek'Sai was one of the non-Assassin champions that was bound to the old Prowler's Claw and took a big hit in power with its removal. We're taking this opportunity to shift Rek'Sai away from Assassin-burst builds (which her kit was never really made to support) and move her strengths towards a more durable Fighter with a chunkier passive heal and better feeling auto attacks. We're also including a few small QoL buffs that should make playing the Queen feel a bit more royal.
Patch 12.19
Base AD decreased.
Rek’Sai is the queen of the jungle, particularly in the early game, snowballing early ganks better than almost every other jungler at the highest levels of play. We’re bringing her early damage down so that her early ganks aren’t as potent as often.

Rek'Sai is a bit too strong in skilled play, especially when she maxes E first. We're targeting exactly that while leaving her normal Q max builds relatively unchanged. (As a reminder, E - Furious Bite's damage gets doubled and converted to true damage at maximum Fury stacks.)

The nerf to Prowler’s Claw in patch 11.13 left Rek’Sai very sad. We’re giving her some direct compensation with a touch of mid-game burst.
