Annie has all but disappeared from the current game so we'd like to bring her back up to viability. While her primary player base is likely to be in mid lane, she's often enjoyed success at support as well, so we're also fanning the flames of her more supportive outputs.

Annie's adjustments have landed well, making her a functional burst mage who relies on her spell hits to deal damage. However, there's still some minor tuning to iron out, largely around her laning phase being a bit too weak and her late game being a bit too strong. These changes are meant to be only lightly power negative overall while giving her a much better early laning phase.

Annie released weaker than intended, specifically during her early game. We’re looking to amplify her identity as a burst mage, ease her laning phase, and reduce her mana costs which have been a pain point as of late.

For a while now, too much of Annie's power budget has been in Tibbers, especially his ability to passively stand next to enemies and burn them over time while applying multiple proc item effects. While this sort of play style will still exist to some degree, we wanted to shift the power back into Annie herself and give her the ability to burst enemies harder and still have a fighting chance when Tibbers is on cooldown. Additionally we are adding a new passive to her R that grants Annie percent magic pen that affects all of her damage. We want Annie to still be able to play the game when flash is on cooldown, and that means having a bit more target freedom and being able to get a little more value on frontline targets, this magic pen will help her in that department.

Annie is currently one of the most popular champions in Pro play and she’s skipping along just fine in solo queue. This is due to how consistent of a pick she is because of her solid early game and strong scaling. Our goal with nerfing her Q is to tone down some of her guaranteed damage and make getting to late game just a tad more difficult.

Annie has been burning her enemies in the bot lane with her updated Molten Shield. Maxing shield as a support makes sense for its defensive capabilities, but it also gives Annie a considerable amount of reflection damage and a cheap way to quickly build up her stun. We still like the idea of Annie helping out her allies, but we're bringing the choice between supportive and carry outputs a bit closer.

Annie and Tibbers have made a big impact on the rift following their most recent gameplay updates. While we believe Annie deserves to be effective, she is overperforming relative to her peers in both Mid and Support, and could do with a little less power. We are aiming to bring down her base health pool to give opponents early counter-play, reduce her ambient damage from her shield, and limit the summon frequency of Tibbers now that he's more of a threat on the Rift.

Passive is now fully charged on spawn. E shield strength increased, cooldown decreased, retaliation damage and conditions adjusted. R Tibbers health, armor, magic resist, and movement speed increased.
Annie’s been struggling to pick up wins, even when she’s matched against opponents that she should have the advantage against. We’re giving one of League’s oldest champs some much-needed quality of life buffs to her Molten Shield and Pyromania passive, and bumping up Tibbers’ durability for late game fights. The intent is to buff Annie in ways that aren’t just her upfront burst damage, but we’ll be keeping an eye out to make sure these changes bring her power to bear.

Annie's burst builds have fallen off since the Durability Update, especially at higher levels of play. We're making her combos a little more fire and giving Tibbers his own CDU (Cuddly Durability Update).
