Patch 16.7
Ornn has been a standout among top lane tanks across all player skill levels, helped by the new top lane role quest accelerating his access to Masterworks. We believe he has an appropriate amount of CC and durability, but we're lowering his personal damage threat, especially against other high health champions.
Patch 15.23
While Ornn is a totally viable top laner, we think he could also shine in the tank jungle roster, so we're buffing some of his monster damage caps. We're also adding some tooltip clarity, as some of his numbers weren't exposed to players.
Patch 14.11
Ornn may now upgrade all Legendary items to Masterwork items.
No more need to explain to your allies about which items can be upgraded. This should allow Ornn to access his passive power consistently without worrying about whether your allies will choose the correct build path.

E cooldown decreased.
Ornn is a little sad but isn’t quite as bad as some stats may lead you to believe, as experienced Ornn players are optimizing him by lowering their Searing Charge cooldown in the mid game by maxing it second. We’d like if E and Q max second were a little closer in power level, so we’re giving some of that E max power for free as an early game buff to everyone and a late game buff to players who continue to max Q second.

Sometimes there are bugs that end up becoming features. Ornn's ultimate has been inflicting a 60% slow for some time now and we've decided to make this feature official as of this patch. ...Woops. (Note: this will result in no change compared to the live patch.)
