Patch 16.4
Illaoi is having trouble staying above water in the new season so we're here to throw her a lifeline. Considering level scaling is all the rage in top lane right now we're giving her more strength in the role she calls home.
Patch 15.18
Passive QoL change. W damage decreased. E vessel duration decreased.
When we nerfed Illaoi's vessel duration, she was left in a state where she could sometimes fail to get any follow-up tentacle attacks on a newly-minted vessel in the early game. We're extending the debuff duration slightly to make it more likely that she can get her well-deserved follow-up slap, but as this has a meaningful power impact, we're also giving her a small compensation nerf. We're also delivering a nice QoL buff requested by Illaoi players: no longer will she waste her passive cooldown while channeling or travelling with Summoner Teleport.

Passive damage increased, cooldown decreased.
Last patch’s Illaoi changes landed weaker than we intended, so we’re here to rectify that and give her the buff she deserves. We’re enabling her to set up shop in new locations more quickly, which is a common pain point for Illaoi players, and generally increasing her damage further since she gets fewer slams overall after lat patch’s Vessel changes.
Patch 15.15
Passive damage increased. E adjusted.
We’re delivering some Illaoi adjustments with the goal of reducing her more frustrating outputs for her opponents. No longer will you have to dodge freshly-spawning tentacles for a full ten seconds. In its stead, we’re giving Illaoi some deserved extra power by making her E overall more responsive and generally increasing her damage. Most notably, she will now get two slams from Test of Spirit’s first phase before level 7. Our desire for this patch is a small net power increase and as always we’ll measure how this lands to ensure we’ve hit that goal.
Patch 14.22
Base AD and Mana growth decreased.
Illaoi has been crushing it lately, especially in lower MMRs. We're nerfing her early game damage and late game ease of piloting in order to give her enemies a greater chance to succeed against her.

Passive damage decreased.
With last patch's tentacle range increase, Illaoi ended up being a bit more powerful than anticipated. As her full attack damage build is massively outperforming her tankier options, we're addressing her power by adjusting her passive damage.
Patch 14.3
Passive tentacle range increased, damage decreased.
The map changes introduced in 14.1 resulted in a drop in power for Illaoi, mainly due to her tentacles being designed around the old terrain spacing. In this patch, we’re looking to make her tentacles more reliable on the new Rift. However, that reliability means more overall damage, hence the tentacle damage reduction. Overall, the two changes should be roughly neutral but feel far better for the Kraken Priestess.
Patch 12.6
QoL change on R and several bugfixes.
No balance changes here; instead, we fixed lots of bugs and updated Illaoi's ult to give her some more control over her tentacles.
Patch 12.4
Base attack speed increased. W damage ratio increased.
Illaoi hasn't found her footing yet this season, and the fighter item changes haven't done the priestess any favors either. She can already hit some wildly high highs, so we're bolstering her baselines to help her release the kraken.
Patch 11.14
Base movement speed increased.
With long cast times and highly-predictable plans of attack, Illaoi can’t really adapt on the fly. While immobility is an important weakness for juggernauts, this has significantly gated her performance in higher skill tiers, making her more pub stompy than is long-term healthy. With more movement speed, she’ll be more able to dodge skillshots, close gaps, and be in the right place at the right time. Overall, this should help her feel more adaptable while also leaving her in a better position for future tuning.
Patch 11.12
Base mana growth increased.
With a smaller mana pool than other fighters, Illaoi often runs low on mana in later phases of the game. This leaves her between a rock and a hard place, where she has to carefully balance when to use mana to push faster and when she’s ready to take on challengers. To solve this, we’re increasing her mana scaling.
